Compiègne Hosts Its First-Ever Mineral and Gem Exhibition – A Dazzling Journey Through the Earth’s Treasures
Compiègne, France – November 9, 2025 | The Paris Telegraph
For the first time, the city of Compiègne (60) welcomed enthusiasts and collectors to an extraordinary event celebrating the beauty and diversity of minerals and gemstones. Held on November 8th and 9th at the Centre de Rencontres de la Victoire, the Mineral and Gem Exhibition offered visitors a unique opportunity to explore the wonders of the Earth.

Dozens of exhibitors from across France showcased their finest collections of minerals, fossils, and gemstones. Among the most captivating displays were gemstones from Madagascar—renowned for their vivid colors—and rare blue sapphires from Sri Lanka, treasured for their exceptional brilliance.

Visitors were invited to admire ancient fossils dating back hundreds of millions of years and to watch a lapidary artist demonstrate the intricate art of cabochon and jewelry cutting. Artisans also presented handcrafted jewelry made with natural stones, and guests could even commission custom-made pieces on the spot.
Adding a touch of mindfulness, the event featured Nepalese singing bowls, where participants could learn about their relaxing and meditative uses.
To the delight of younger visitors, each child received a 50-million-year-old fossilized shark tooth pendant (species Otodus Obliquus), discovered in the quarries of Khouribga, Morocco—a unique keepsake connecting them to Earth’s ancient history.

Organizers expressed joy over the event’s success and hinted at making it an annual rendezvous for gem and fossil lovers in the region.
