Le Bristol Leads Paris’s Best Hotels in 2026 as Four Make Global Top 50
PARIS, 6 November 2026 — Paris’s hotels have earned fresh international recognition this year, with Le Bristol Paris topping Condé Nast Traveller’s Paris list and four French capital hotels appearing in The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2026.
The rankings do not produce one universal winner: they use different methods. Condé Nast Traveller’s Readers’ Choice Awards are based on reader votes, while the global 50 Best list is decided by an academy of travel and hospitality experts. Together, they offer visitors several ways to identify notable places to stay in Paris.
In the Readers’ Choice Awards, Le Bristol Paris ranked first among the Paris hotels listed, with a score of 99.18. Ritz Paris came second, followed by Four Seasons Hotel George V. Hôtel de Crillon and Maison Proust completed the top five.

The global ranking placed Hôtel de Crillon at No. 14, Le Bristol at No. 19 and Cheval Blanc Paris at No. 20. Hôtel Plaza Athénée entered the list at No. 41. Rosewood Hong Kong took the global top spot.
Paris also features strongly in France’s official Palace distinction, which recognises exceptional hotels. Atout France’s 2026 list includes 13 Paris properties, among them the Four Seasons Hotel George V, Hôtel de Crillon, Le Bristol, Ritz-area landmark Le Meurice, Shangri-La Paris and The Peninsula Paris. The distinction is separate from the hotel rankings and does not provide a numbered order.
The Michelin Guide’s 2026 hotel selection offers another guide for travellers. It evaluates properties using criteria including design, service, character, value for money and their contribution to the local experience. This year’s Paris list includes Maison Barrière Vendôme as a new addition. Michelin’s Keys range from one to three, with three Keys representing its highest hotel distinction.
For travellers, the lists point to different ways to choose a stay: reader-rated favourites, hotels recognised by international experts, or properties carrying formal distinctions. They also cover a narrow part of Paris’s wide hotel market. Time Out notes that the city has more than 1,600 hotels, ranging from budget accommodation to high-end historic properties.
The 2026 results underline Paris’s continued standing as a major destination for luxury hospitality. They also suggest that “best” depends on what a visitor values—recognition, location, hotel style or budget—rather than on a single definitive ranking.
